For over four decades, attorney Bob Cheeley has been advocating for the rights of Georgia residents who sustained injuries or lost a family member in catastrophic incidents. An accomplished professional, he is a founding member and the managing partner of Cheeley Law Group, LLC.
Landmark Verdicts and Settlements
Throughout his career, Bob has secured hundreds of millions of dollars in jury verdicts and negotiated settlements on behalf of victims nationwide. His notable victories include cases against Johnson & Johnson for women who developed cancer from talcum powder and against General Motors for defective vehicle parts, winning a $150 million settlement in one instance and a $105 million jury verdict in another.
He also represented the families of nursing students who were tragically killed in a 2015 truck collision in Savannah. In other notable cases, he secured a $90 million settlement against Suzuki Motor Company for a defective SUV and $40 million against Toyota Motor Company for faulty seat belts.
Georgia Roots and Legal Excellence
Born and raised in Georgia, Bob graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia (B.A., 1979) and the University of Georgia School of Law (J.D., 1982). He is licensed to practice before all Georgia trial courts, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Professional Leadership and Recognition
Bob is an active member of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice, and has served as a board member for the Attorneys Information Exchange Group and as president and chairman of Phi Gamma Delta.
He has earned the prestigious AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell and was honored as National Trial Lawyer of the Year by Public Citizen in 1993.
