Robyn Carmichael

Director of Legal Administration & Senior Complex Litigation Paralegal

About

Robyn Carmichael joined Cheeley Law Group in March 2020, bringing more than 33 years of experience in civil litigation. She began her career as a paralegal in 1987 at Wallace & DeMayo managing a team of nine, working in collections and bankruptcy law for major retail credit card companies. During the savings and loan crisis, Robyn continued her work in collections and bankruptcy at the FDIC, where she also participated in a bank closing.

Following her work with the FDIC, Robyn joined Intercontinental Hotel Group (formerly Holiday Inn Worldwide), spending seven years in complex litigation and franchise law. She then transitioned to a Senior Complex Litigation Paralegal in insurance defense, serving eight years in the construction law division at Freeman Mathis & Gary. She then transitioned into a Senior Paralegal position at Dennis Corry Porter & Smith, where she managed complex litigation cases involving major tractor-trailer insurers. After a decade focused on insurance defense, Robyn shifted to plaintiff’s work, joining The Law Office of Sutton Slover for six years prior to her arrival at Cheeley Law Group.

Education:

Robyn earned her BA degree in Journalism and Mass Communication with a Minor in business, from the University of Georgia. She was on the Dean’s List several times while also a Student Athlete, lettering in Women’s Track and Field. She went back to college ten years later and graduated from Paralegal School at Kennesaw College with a 4.0 GPA.

Outside the Office:

An athlete at heart, Robyn comes from a family of Division I competitors—her husband, Dan, and all three of their grown children share that distinction. She enjoys working out at her CrossFit gym and other outdoor activities such as cheering on her grandchildren in their sports and dance, boating, gardening, and playing with her labradors. Robyn and Dan are proud members of Woodstock City Church.
